Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania -
The end of this trip, photo-wise.
Here's the deal: Motel 6 rocks, not only on strictly utilitarian grounds (What more do you really want out of a hotel than a clean bed, clean towels, and cable? Nada, as far as I'm concerned). They're cheap, and pretty universally they accept pets. Additionally, it's hard to throw a rock off most exits and not hit one.
Not so on IH-80 through northern Pennsylvania. Nary a Motel 6 to be found. So the pets and I drove through the night, catching a little rest at a couple of rest areas in Pennsylvania and New York. By the time we hit the Empire State, I had no desire to waste time doing anything other than peeing, driving, or sleeping, so we pressed on through to Mystic. I'll drag the dog down to the town sign this weekend to get a bookend picture, but the last day of the trip blew.
