El Grande Giro!
This month has been the Giro d’Italia, which I’m quickly coming to love more than le Tour. Maybe it’s just because I’ve only been following the TDF since it became the Lance Armstrong show (Allez, Lance!), but this year’s Giro - the first one I’ve really followed, is fascinating.
I post, however, to recommend two video clips that even non-cycling fans should love. One of the (I assume) Italian TV networks (RAI) is posting pretty much all of their Giro programming, with the exception of the live stage coverage, on the web. You have got to check out:
The Giro d’Italia Theme Song “El grande Giro, el grande Giro” - you’ll be humming all day. Why can’t we have cool stuff like that for the World Series?
L’Italia in Rosa Sounds like the Giro’s had theme songs for a while, even music videos and bad covers of the Monkees. (For cycling fans, it features a ton of Jaques Anteiul and Eddy Merckx footage)
