Achewood Variety Hour
Kelly and I agree that Achewood has probably jumped the shark, and there is no question that it takes dedication to “get” what the comic strip is about and see the humor behind these cleverly crafted characters. Also, I have not been dealing well with the fact that the artist has decided to only post new strips on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Today I am starting to understand, though, that some artists need to expand to new mediums and break new ground (and maybe sometimes that has to impact their core competency). Chris Onstad (the artist) steps it up on his non-comic strip day with instructions (given in the voice of his character, Ray Smuckles) on how to make a pretty cool looking shooter along with a really nice photograph of the finshed product.
