Nerdfighter Collective’s Performance Art

There is the premise that if you have to explain a performance art piece it loses its value. However, much like an old movie with a clever twist, if you haven’t seen it by now you can’t blame someone else for telling you that Bruce Willis’s character is a ghost — enough time has passed that it is your fault for not seeing the movie. On the innernets time passes very quickly, and if you haven’t heard about Paige Railstone by now then you’ve missed most of the piece the Nerdfighters (propelled by author John Green) have been performing for about a week now.

Here’s a spoiler video about this collective-hive-mind internet performance piece that sort of blows me away…now that I understand it. Initially I have to admit I was annoyed and didn’t truly understand, but that happens a lot in my relationship with art.
