Every week I make a list of notable discs being released so I can figure out what I “need” to buy. ;)

Big Trouble in Little China – I’ve always found this to be too over-the-top, but the fanboys go nuts for Kurt Russel and oriental magic.
My Cousin Vinny – This is one of those films that some would call a “guilty pleasure”, but I feel no guilt admitting a love for the entire cast and the script is hilarious. Also, this is the first of three films released this week that play to my southern bias.
Sling Blade – An academy award winning movie filmed in central Arkansas demonstrates that art can be created by a man from Hot Springs. Billy Bob hasn’t lived up to his promise after writing and directing a home-set movie (like some other Ben Affleck in the same category two years later) but if we all could be known for one great movie we should have no complaints.
The Waterboy – The third movie to play to my southern bias is the only silly Adam Sandler movie I like. I’m not sure a Blu-Ray transfer was neccesary, though.

The Machine Girl 1.5 – If you didn’t get this absurdist piece of Japanese cinema since its release almost a year ago, I’m not sure you’d buy it again…unless you’re just dying to watch all the extras on the new second disk.
