Every week I make a list of notable discs being released so I can figure out what I “need” to buy. ;)

* “Watchmen (Director’s Cut)”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056195/ – Fanboys always find flaws, but Watchmen was good enough to spur discussion and was a perfect application of Zack Snyder’s stylized visuals that he “invented” for *300*. I’m looking forward to watching it at again.
* “Coraline”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327597/ – Not seeing this in 3D in the theater is a crime, but it’s still beautifully stunning in this flattened mode. Everyone should own this movie.
* “The Great Buck Howard”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460810/ – I haven’t seen this, yet, but the creative forces behind it (Colin Hanks, John Malkovitch, Tom Hanks) are too good to pass up, not to mention a “73%”:http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1189629-the_great_buck_howard/ on Rotten Tomatoes is a resounding recommendation.
* “Visioneers”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0833557/ – The movie Zach Galifianakis starred in before *The Hangover* is dark, funny, touching and a little painful. We screened it just last night at Nomad Bar, and the audience gave favorable opinions. It is clearly a festival movie, and reminds me of another festival darling: *Kabluey*.
* “America’s Test Kitchen”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0437700/ – The second best show that actually teaches you to cook is re-releasing the first five seasons on DVD. Don’t see it as an expense, but as an investment. You really will learn how to cook better even though the cast is all yankees.
* “The Mighty Boosh”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416394/ – I lost my fanboy love for British comedy somewhere over the last couple decades. *Boosh* is funny and entertaining, but I LOL only a couple times per episode. Maybe I’m just old and bitter.
* “300: The Complete Experience”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416449/ – I wouldn’t normally post a rehash, but by most accounts you will earn an associates degree in creating high-quality FX movie magic just by watching this disk.*

*You will not actually earn any degree.
