John is getting ready to see Novo Hamburgo, north of Porto Alegre…it probably isn’t a town made of hamburgers, right? :(

Now for your reading pleasure I will do two translations of a joke told to me by a native Brazilian about the Portugese, translated into Texan and Louisanan.

For Texans For Louisianans
An aggie had to move to Dallas and he left his prize bull with his best friend. A few weeks after being in Dallas he gets an email from his best friend that simply says
your bull died.
The aggie is very upset and he sends a reply saying
dude, you can’t just come out and tell a guy his prize bull died like that. you have to break the news slowly. you should start out by saying “your bull got out of the pasture and is in the road.”, then send an email later saying “your bull was hit by a car, so we took him to the vet.”, then finally send an email saying “i am sorry, but your bull died at the vet.”
A few more weeks go by and the aggie gets an email from his best friend that says
you mother got out of the pasture and is in the road.
Boudreaux had to move to the big city and he left his pet gator with Thibodeaux. A few weeks after being in the big city he gets an email from Thibodeaux that simply says
your gator died.
Boudreaux is very upset and he sends a reply saying
Thibodeaux, you can’t just come out and tell a guy his pet gator died like that. you have to break the news slowly. you should start out by saying “your gator ran off into the swamp.”, then send an email later saying “some coonass shot your gator but we took him to the vet.”, then finally send an email saying “i am sorry, but your gator died at the vet.”
A few more weeks go by and Boudreaux gets an email from Thibodeaux that says
you mother ran off into the swamp.
