Maine Root, I Forgive You
A little over a month ago I stopped at the Maine Root booth at the downtown farmer’s market and was delighted to find that they sold root beer in growlers. I’ve been back nearly every week only to find that they’ve abandon the booth and my growler has remained empty. I’ve gone through the five stages of grief, but I haven’t been able to forgive Maine Root for abandoning me during my summer of thirst — and it is hot and thirsty in Texas these days. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I found two new flavors at Longhorn Po-Boy: Lemon-Lime and Blueberry. The LL is nothing to write home about, but the Blueberry: O…M…G. It’s like blueberry pie in a bottle.
The also have a new Orange flavor available in the “to-go” section of Central Market that I’ll comment on later.

go ahead, scoff all you like but there are few men (or women) who will come between me and a good soda.
and all those morons who think they can make gourmet soda with corn syrup will rue the day they cross my path.
btw, the orange is pretty darn good, too.
some of the folks in maine are taking me seriously on the soda issue…now if i can just find a candidate who agrees to take up my cause.

Jeez, now I know why everyone was holding their breath around here. Thank goodness you’ve patched things up!
