WiiFit
A shiny WiiFit box was waiting for me when we got back from a long weekend with the family for the Memorial Day holiday. I’ve been eagerly awaiting this game for months, and I’m pleased to say I wasn’t disspaointed. The exercises are not only a blast, but they’re actual EXERCISE – my heart rate was up quite a bit on several of the games, particularly in the aerobics and balance sections.
The personal trainer is especially great – the instruction is perfect. I’m pleased as punch to report that I am indeed pretty fit (particularly high marks in the Yoga and Strength Training sections), but my balance and reaction times are pretty bad. Luckily, I’ve now got a personalized training program all mapped out that will evolve as I meet goals. FANTASTIC!

I am really, really digging on Wii Fit. My balance sucks, though, and I’ve obviously been neglecting everything except for running and cycling for way too long.
We picked it up for Missy for Mother’s Day. The first night i played it, she said “I think this is a better Father’s Day present – she’s got nice boobs.” I suppose there are worse motivators.
I’ll second the kudo for the instruction. Absolutely spot on, though I wish there were more coaching on the breathing during the yoga sessions.
My only real gripe is that there’s not like a “Playlist” function where you could set up a list of a bunch of different exercises, and essentially make your own workout tape. It’s kind of a pain to have to get scored, see the high scores, and select “Quit” to go to the next exercise.
