Everything you think about Teeth after you’ve seen the trailer is right, but somehow I think you’ve still got it wrong. I had it all wrong, so I’m not calling you out. Teeth is ridiculous, sensational and gory yet it is really well crafted and not exploitative. If you can get over how upset you think you are and just want to have fun at a creepy movie that pays tribute to the classic horror genre while never slipping into “camp” then you may be lucky enough to have Teeth show up at a theater near you. If that doesn’t happen then in a few months you can have Netflix deliver it in a non-distinct envelope and no one will have to know that you watched it. Harry brought us this film that was made locally and let us have a Q&A with the director. The most interesting point he made is that at no point did he want to show the lead character’s affliction — he didn’t even want to show her bloody since he felt that her character’s journey was not about being a monster but more about finding a hidden “hero” power. I thought it was well worth the price…but I did get to see it for free.

You may remember when we started using Brad Choate’s textile back in the old days. Well, it is still available here on our new Wordpress site. If you like taking shortcuts you should really read up on Textile shortcuts as it makes quick and simple work of that complicated html crap.
The best example: you may remember that we used to say
Sarcasm Mark: <strong>¡<strong>
in our banner and now we can simplify it by using
Sarcasm Mark: ~*¡*~
The one I use most often is to create links. So above instead of typing
<a href=“http://www.rollerfeet.com/backporchbeer/2004/02/16/1163/”>started using Brad Choate’s textile</a>
I simply typed
“started using Brad Choate’s textile”:http://www.rollerfeet.com/backporchbeer/2004/02/16/1163/
You way have also noticed that some of us (just Becky and I, right now) have acquired icons in the upper right corner of our posts that show who made the post graphically — and it shows up in our comments. If you want the same thing, go into your user profile and look for the “Gravatar” tab. If you want your old one, just use the format “http://www.rollerfeet.com/backporchbeer/images/etrigan.png”, replacing the filename (etrigan) with your username.
