No one ever said I don’t propagate spam. I just do it more efficiently.

The SmiCollums were kind enough to share their Thanksgiving meal with us (along with Kelly’s parents, his brother and sister-in-law, their 7 month old son and 3 additional dogs — not as much a madhouse as it sounds). Here’s a pict-o-gram of the wonderful meal.

cornbread stuffing with sausage and peppers  squash gratin  sweet potatoes  broccoli salad  Becky's Lithuanian cracker stuffing  Kelly's turkey  Becky's pear and sour cherry pie, pumpkin pie, brown butter pecan pie and deviled eggs  my sweet potato biscuits  canned jellied cranberry sauce  fresh cranberry sauce  cynthia's butter bread sticks

And for your bonus picture, part of our neighbor’s elaborate Christmas display. They were having trouble getting this particular display to fully inflate and I may be going to hell for this but Joseph’s beatific look paired with Mary’s inappropriate position gives me an infernal pause.

It’s inaccurate to label this “cool” but this video, showing a guy picking up and stacking dice with a cup he quickly waves over them, does require some dexterity and is a cool demonstration of physics.

did that man really just stick his ear buds in my ears? and make me listen to Fergie?

unhygienic AND uncool.

With the s.o. out of town I took the opportunity to drive through Short Stop for a decidedly omnivorous dinner. At the window I order a “sprite” with my dead cow sandwich and the overly-enthusiastic girl behind the mic informs me “We don’t have Sprite©, just Sierra Mist©.” Even when I drank CCCs I wasn’t a zealot — I would prefer an RC© over a Pepsi© or Coke© but I would take whatever was available — but is there really someone out there who is so taken with Sprite© that they have to be told it’s not what’s on tap?

Two sets of pictures that remind me of all the ideas I’ve had that caused Kelly to give me that look.

One of our cohorts (BT) spent part of his honeymoon in Tonga so I figured he’d have more than a passing interest in this story. A yacht crew sailing out of Vava’u came across a volcanic eruption creating an island in the ocean. Check out the pictures they took.

There are question that arise from this article about Wal-Mart’s benefits on the economy, but they make a statement that supports what I’ve said all along, “poor people get 50 percent more benefit from Wal-Mart than rich people”, which means Wal-Mart actually has a positive impact on the poor people near it.

As usual, Tom Toles has a direct line to my laugh track.

Is there any chance the Dem’s will see this as an opportunity to bring some healing? any chance they’ll recognize that the last 6 years rests partially on their shoulders, too, and will realize that their constituents want a balanced reasonable approach to budget, social concerns, privacy issues and foreign policy? Probably no chance of any of that but I bet the Dem’s get blamed for raising taxes as they try to recover from the massive deficit the GOP has burdened us with.

Besides the Xbox 360 Blog there are some other cool widgets out there that monitor your GamerScore (which my co-workers spell with a ‘y’ in the middle) including this gem which I’m using to call out Kelly.

For some reason this makes me think of John and Becky.
