Since we’re on the subject of books, I’m finishing up The DaVinci Code, and I’ve got to say it is, hands down, the absolute worst novel I’ve read in a long, long time. Dan Brown did stitch together a gripping plot, but his writing – ouch.

My favorite daily dose of belly-button lint, Open Source, did a bit a couple of nights ago searching for the Great American Novel of the last 25 years. And surprise, surprise, they weren’t able to find it. But, it was a welcome breath of fresh air after a couple of weeks of ritual political finger pointing, still without any ideas of how to stop the train of state from running off the tracks.

According to Austinist, The Alamo Draft House Downtown will soon become a non-profit to cover skyrocketing rent and property taxes. No details on the site yet, but I’ll be keeping an eye out to become an official patron. I wonder what I’d have to pay to always get in to BNAT
