McCain&#039;s right on this one - the US has hugely higher standards with regard to human rights than most of the rest of the world. It shouldn&#039;t come down to needing regulation, but, given the scrutiny with which our operations are followed, this is another way of defining who we are as a country.

There are clear examples of right and wrong. Torture, even in the &quot;Ticking Bomb&quot; scenario, is wrong.

Especially in a &quot;war of ideas.&quot;
