NPR's bit was brilliant, IMO, focusing on the rider and the positive benefits of it, and not resorting to outright ridicule of the Administration and Sen. Stevens. McCain's right on this one - the US has hugely higher standards with regard to human rights than most of the rest of the world. It shouldn't come down to needing regulation, but, given the scrutiny with which our operations are followed, this is another way of defining who we are as a country. There are clear examples of right and wrong. Torture, even in the "Ticking Bomb" scenario, is wrong. Especially in a "war of ideas."
