GOP Can’t Get It Right

My conservative friends have been awfully silent about my attacks on the GOP lately (probably because they consider it a waste of energy on both sides) but I think we might reach some consensus here. Bush can’t seem to get appointees right. The postitions he fills that call for specific field experience are severly lacking but in a judiciary over-run with career holier-than-thou’s he could appoint another non-judge. (I’m not talking about Roberts, though. I think he may be…non-disastorous.)

Yeah, much of it is just fatigue.

Nate’s hitting the stage where he has definite desires, but hasn’t quite arrived at facilities for speech and logic with which to either express his wants, or to understand the times and reasons when he can’t quite get what he wants. Consequently, he screams pretty frequently. The key is to ignore him when he’s apopleptic.

The other is, at least on my part, a general lack of desire to defend W’s administration. You’ll recall that back in 2K4, I posted a bunch of times wishing that either there’d be a GOP primary challenge, or that the DNC would have nominated someone even remotely near the center for whom I could have voted.

I don’t think that W’s preformance with respect to Katrina has been as bad as portrayed by the hysterical MSM, but then again, I’m one of the few Federalists remaining. But at the same time, it’s just not worth pissing into the wind to try to get any accountability for the Governor of Louisiana or the Mayor of New Orleans (both in general and in specific).

Nominating a non-judge, though, could be a brilliant stroke. How ‘bout Powell?

Ooo… That’s an excellent suggestion. A true compassionate well-thinking (and well-thought-of) conservative. Let’s start a campaign to put Powell in Sadra’s seat.
