My parents celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary next week and to show our love my sister and I put together a two-weekend trip that started with a weekend alone at the Kerrville Folk Festival and ended with their children (and their signifigant others) at a rented house in New Braunfels. We ate at Oma’s, spent a morning in Gruene and generally lazed around the house. (If you want a nice place, ask me for a reference. This place included multiple shaded decks leading to the water’s edge, 3 large bedrooms, a pool table and currently sports a pair of hawks who spend most of the morning fetching food for their hatchlings.) It was, also, ROT Biker Rally weekend so you will notice the hawgs in the few pics I took below.
—p.s. speaking of hawgs, condolences to my Dad for the Razorback’s loss to UT today in the Inter-regional playoff.—
Read more! The shovelglove program should appeal to those who are less-than-athletically inclined. Based on “useful movements” that have kept humans healthy through the ages (also known as “physical labor”), for only 14 minutes a day you, too can be as healthy and hearty as your poor great-grandfather the ditch-digger.

This short article my eye this a.m. and is remarkable for the brief mention:
The governor signed those laws not…at the state capitol, but rather at the Calvary Christian Academy
He couldn’t be any clearer that the place to take care of the business of the State is in church. Let’s hope your church and his church don’t disagree on anything.
