Went to see Revenge of the Sith tonite. Before I get to spoilers, let me lay claim to two quotes:
“Luke, I knew your father. George Lucas was once a great filmmaker, until he was destroyed by the Dark Side” and
“Much like the first trilogy, the second movie was the best one of the three.”
Read more!I was the first person in line yesterday who hadn’t spent the night there. The GM for the theater near our house had gone all out: digital projector, costumed actors to fight after dusk with light sabers, bringing in Force FX (the makers of the life size light saber replicas), two radio stations to host shows (one that held a costume contest giving away a life size Yoda, the other grilled dogs and burgers and brought in a local band), dragging out every News team in town (I made the background of the anchor spot!) and creating enough hype to fill three theaters at midnight and 3am.
Some of the guys who did spend the night had crafted wooden light sabers and spent much of the afternoon coreographing duel scenes. I decided to take the high road and simply declare that I had lost my innocence for doing that kind of thing.
