Along with the home-based fuel cell that I will be installing when I win the lotto, I will be replacing large sections of my roof with solar tiles# that look similar to regular roofing.

After our roof was repaired a couple years back our roof guy — who was awesome; let me know if you need one in central Texas — told me I’d stop admmiring it after a few weeks and that my neighbors had probably already stopped looking up at it. He was right so I think this might not even piss off the wife.

If I found myself to suddenly be a man of leisrue, I’d probably learn several languages and spend my time roaming the world watching for cool movies like this new Japanese robot movie coming out later this year.

I’m making a public bookmark here of this article which takes on the latest issue of Popular Mechanics about debnking 9/11 myths. I will have to go find a copy of the magazine, read it, then return here to read this article…

Anyone want to place odds on me completing this particular quest?

—personal to pointless to political…quite a posting day for me, eh?—

If you want to test your skills against other bpb’ers (and related folks) at picking Oscar winners our group number is “2590” and the password is “utrules”.

I am not surprised at most of the player favorites, but I have to think the people who selected Phantom of the Opera as Best Art Direction either (a) haven’t really seen it or (b) have decided to extend the (mostly god-awful) revival of the 80s to cover Madonna’s most cocaine induced moments. Only Joel Schumacker would take the gayest pop musical of all time and decide it needed something a little more…like “vogueing”. Yes, I admit I vogued in the 80s, but I was being ironic — irony wasn’t dead then.

A quick happy birthday to — not just one! — two of our regulars, Cynthia and BT. Here’s hoping you found a way to spend the day away from the office doing things that are a complete waste of time.
