I ordered an iPod Mini for my wife on 13 Aug from Buy.com. It was backordered. Fine. The item shipped on 8 Sep, and was lost in transit. Again, not buy.com’s problem (shipping was FedEx).
The problem began when I tried to file a complaint on 9/21. I got an automated reply on 9/22 with a tracking number, and a promise that the matter would be handled in a maximum of 15 business days. I tried to follow up on 9/29, and was told that if I wanted the item soon, I should “place a new order for the item(s) on the Buy.com website and change your claim to credit.” (Crafty marketing, BTW).
Again, for anyone Googling complaints about Buy.com, their phone number is 949-389-2000. The BBB has numbers of (949) 389 – 2840 (877) 780 – 2464 (877) 289 – 4465.

(And here’s a bit on the electoral college from The Ludwig von Mises Institute, which appears to be a libertarian hotbed.)
I’m waiting with baited breath for tonight’s game. My fondest wish is for Biggio to break out of his slump tonight a la the Caveman last night, and the Sox and the Stros to take it to seven games in The Series. But can’t exactly talk about it coherently right now.
BTW, catching game 6 in Boston with JohnO was absolutely great. Thanks, again, John. And if it is Houston/Boston in the Series, Houston stands to gain HUGE home field advantage by playing with the roof open if temps are in the 80’s.
So I’m trying to print out a bunch of documents I was working on at home to read off-line, and I’ve got to open up each one of them in Word and then print them instead of being able to select and right-click them, then select “Print”.

Grrr….
Though it doesn’t make me want one of these any less.
(Or even a new one of these once they put the SuperDrive [DVD burner] in the 12”)
