This should have been a review for AVP but it is so bad that I thought my bits would be better spent spreading news of good things. (For the record, the script for AVP is actually pretty good which is confusing since PWSA proceeded to ruin his script with bad actors, bad direction and simpleton special effects.) Galaxy Highland 10, a historically notoriously crappy theater has recently rennovated/upgraded to full stadium seating with big screens and better sound systems. For the time being, the lines are short (or non-existant) since no-one has noticed the changes. My guess is they’ll either crash and burn if they don’t sell more tickets, or people will catch on to the new face of GH10 and I’ll lose my new secret almost-private movie-watching location. (I’d rather the latter since having a good theater a few blocks away is preferrable.)

I try to avoid posting Salon.com links since most of us read it and those who don’t do so because it’s become bitterly partisan. However, Patrick Smith’s Ask The Pilot columns are always a refreshing read and have been a sense of solace for many liberal readers who were afraid to take back to tha air after 9/11. Patrick lost his pilot job after the attack and took up the Salon column to address the issues of 9/11 and generally pull back the curtain on the airline industry. It’s good stuff.
