Reverend Moon is rumored to have provided submarines to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il.

Jane’s Defense Weekly is reporting this week that Kim Jong-Il, unstable North Korean dictator (I wrote about him in the British Guardian) may be able to target California with sea-launched missiles. His know-how, the Reuters story relates, comes from 12 ex-Soviet submarines that fell into his hands. They came with their original launch tubes and stabilizing gear intact. Where does Kim get those wonderful toys?

Funny story: According to U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency documents (which you can browse here), they were furnished by Reverend Moon.

As usual, I reserve the right to upgrade to “Political” Category if any of this is corraberated at a later date.

p.s. It was really hard not to start this post with “George W Bush supporter, Reverend Moon…”

MMORGs are taking over the computer playing world. I personally avoid them beacause they’re the biggest time sucks ever, but I like reading about people trying to pervert the paradigm. Steven at The Sneeze uses City of Heroes to spread a little humor in a world that may take itself too seriously.

Rock, Pop and Country stars agree on at least one thing, Bush has got to go.

Ironic that millionaires, who have benefitted the most from the Bush tax cuts, would work for free to kick out the man who pushed for them. I mean, Kerry’s going to roll back those taxes – what are they thinking?

The NEA is sponsoring a series of writing workshops for soldiers this year:

The program, called “Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience,” is aimed at preserving stories from the battlegrounds of Iraq and Afghanistan. The endowment expects to hold 20 or so workshops at American military installations between now and next spring (Camp Lejeune was the second stop; the first was Fort Drum in upstate New York in June), with a formidable roster of participating writers selected by an independent panel of editors appointed by the endowment. It includes military thriller heavyweights like Jeff Shaara and Tom Clancy, as well as prominent literary lights like Tobias Wolff and Richard Bausch.
