John Kerry – Kidnapper. Yep, the wanna-be waited until his plane was in the air, then told reporters that they’d be going to a Red Sox game instead of Florida.

Then he gets to the game, and can’t even get the ball to the plate. His throw was low and short.

In his defense, he did give the right answers (third item) when quizzed on the essentials of baseball: That Grady Little should have pulled Pedro in Game 7; that the DH rule is the work of Satan (“Have you ever worshipped a false diety”); and was evasive on Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame.

So, I guess this whole thing is moot – GW might be able to actually throw like a man, but JFK probably wouldn’t have traded Sosa…

On today’s ATC Melissa Block is running down the goings on at the DNC convention. That’s all well and good.

But if you listen to the link, you can hear that she’s speaking over the National Anthem. Which is not all well and good. I can understand the whole broadcast schedule and stuff, but the proper alternative would have been to delay the segment by a couple of minutes, or to have done it from a room in which the anthem wasn’t audible.

The Times Business pages say that there maybe might be a housing bubble bust on the way. If it comes, which they are not saying will definitely happen, it will be bad. Bad for you, but good for me!

Whew, I am SO glad we don’t own a house! After figuring out last night that housing costs are only 15% of our income, this makes me feel even better. Rent forever!
