This out-of-print book details “the truth” behind the Communist Party of America (CPUSA) in the 1930’ s and 1940’s.

Dodd describes Communism as “a strange secret cult” whose goal is the destruction of Western (i.e. Christian) Civilization. Millions of naïve idealists (“innocents”) are tricked by its talk of helping the poor, but it cares only for power. For example, Dodd found there was no social research at party headquarters. “We are a revolutionary party, not a reform party,” she was told. (163)

Some good points eventually drivel down into the standard rants about the Socialist ideas themselves (including the empowerment of women) being the destruction of Christian civilization, not the fact that these ideas were perverted to gain power.

Is it my day for parnoid posting?

Omar Sheikh, who wired $100,000 to Mohammed Atta, is going to be executed in Pakistan for the murder of Daniel Pearl. Pearl’s wife and and the US Government don’t really believe that Sheikh is responsible for Pearl’s murder. What is going on here?

I reserve the right to upgrade this to “Politics” should further facts enforce the story.
