I know we’ve discussed this before, but in light of a proposed bill to offer more liberal radio to ARFRTS and some drug-adled thinking last night, I want to work on my analogies for political media discourse.

Today’s reason: ignoring human rights is a family affair.
It’s almost a gaurantee that human rights abuses will disappear in Iraq after John Negroponte is appointed U.S. Ambassador to Iraq.
During his tenure as US ambassador to Honduras, Jack Binns, who was appointed by President Jimmy Carter, made numerous complaints about human rights abuses by the Honduran military. … When the Reagan administration came to power in 1981, Binns was replaced by Negroponte, who has consistently denied having knowledge of any wrongdoing. Binns claimed he fully briefed Negroponte on the situation before leaving the post. … In a biographical profile Foreign Policy In Focus reported that “on Negroponte’s watch, diplomats quipped that the embassy’s annual human rights reports made Honduras sound more like Norway than Argentina.
Negroponte is a perfect fit for the Bush administration considering that ignoring humanitarian ethics to show support for your cohorts is lock-step in line with their agenda.
