The focus of my trip to NYC was to catch the Whitney Biennial 2004. The Biennial 2004 Exhibition book is a joy to have and, while it is absent the Audio CD that the 2002 Biennial book contained, it includes a box with 4 six inch stickers, 5 strips of film, 9 eight by six inch postcards, 23 five by seven inch zines, 7 standard size bumper stickers, 7 seven-inch-vinyl insert cards, and 53 posters of varying sizes (with each edge being a multiple of 11.5”). representing 107 different artists (or artist collectives…as the case may be.) I’d really like to talk about…oh, I don’t know…60 or 80 of the exhibits, but I’ll get my list down to my favorite top 10.
