I just got a look at the woman who is playing Helen in Troy, and my first thought was, “She’s sorta cute and all, but that is not the face that launched 1000 ships. A couple dozen, maybe, but not 1000.”

So, as a completely sexist and pointless endeavour, I thought I was ask my porch brethren (ans sister-thren) to let me know who they think has the goods to play Helen. Who really could lauch 1000 ships, or at least a couple dozen?

The only rule here: spouses and significant others are excluded from consideration.

My choice, Laetitia Casta. If you wanted to play against type, Thandie Newton would also work.

Even the highly religious question W’s driving ambition to destroy everything he disagrees with. An Iran-backed Muslim cleric wants Bush to undergo psychiatric evaluation to make sure he’s sane.

The Iran-backed Sheik Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, spiritual guide for many Lebanese Shiites, told American journalists in Beirut, “looking at the mentality of President Bush who considers him the second messiah in the world, one cannot expect him to act reasonably.

“The man has been presenting himself as a messenger from God with a mission to rule the world and spread the values he believes in … That is why I suggest to have him examined by psychiatrists, with all due respect, because we respect sick people,” Fadlallah said.
