So, turns out that the EPA is making the (ch)Air Force use an environmentally friendly solid rocket motor as they refurbish Minuteman III missiles.
The new rocket motors, which have to comply with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) rules, will have a shorter range than the original motors
Looks like they evaluated the environmental impact of the warheads, too: the Minuteman third stage, that contains three 440 pound nuclear weapons, will be replaced with a warhead containing one 600 pound nuclear weapon.
Today’s reason: limited focus.
We’ve discussed Clarke suggesting W had an obsession with Iraq and yesterday we discussed Bush (thankfully) dropping the ball on some of his own initiatives. It may be he has an issue dealing with multiple issues at once. Sir Christopher Meyer, the former British Ambassador to Washington, has Richard Clarke’s back saying that during Bush/Blair discussions post 9/11 W was adamant that they would be sure to attack Iraq as soon as Afghanistan was subdued.
Bush, claims Meyer, replied by saying: ‘I agree with you, Tony. We must deal with this first. But when we have dealt with Afghanistan, we must come back to Iraq.’ Regime change was already US policy.
It was clear, Meyer says, ‘that when we did come back to Iraq it wouldn’t be to discuss smarter sanctions’.
So I’m cranking out my taxes this evening (Yes, I should have done them long ago), and when I get to the W-2 that the Active duty side of the Dept. of the Navy sent, it says that Uncle Sam continued to pay me after I was released back in May. Funny, but my bank account disagrees…

So now I’m looking forward to spending the next couple of days on the phone with a bean counter in Cleveland trying to straighten this out. (expletive deleted).
And you yellow-dog-peeing-on-a-tree-hugging Liberals wonder why I have a knee-jerk reaction against letting the government do anything.
