Due to date changes, the RNC “may not get Bush on the ballot”:http://www.pantagraph.com/stories/032604/new_20040326026.shtml in Illinois. The point is probably moot since Illinois is “typically Democrat”:http://www.johnedwards2004.com/map/ but it would be funny if it happened. (Of course, it _won’t_ happen since the Ill. House Dems don’t want to look too slimy.)

But how is their shooting down efforts to correct this last year (see bit in the article you linked to) any slimier than what TX ‘Pubs did with gerrymandering?

(BTW – score me some fairness points here for not calling it “redistricting”? It may make Texas’s house delegation to Washington more truly reflect the party preference of Texas voters, but they did slice up Austin something funny. I think part of East Austin is now in the same district I was in in Katy)

I was more curious who decided their date last. Was it a coniving Dem in Ill, or was it the JA(jackasses)’s in the GOP? If the former, than there is certainly shame to be had. If the latter, then the GOP was purposely drawing a line against Ill. citizens.
