T.A.G. 2005
Spawned from this news story about a Singapore mobile-phone game called “Gunslingers”, I came up with a (surely this has been thought of before) idea for a high-tech update to TAG.
We could design a spin-off from one of the social websites (like Friendster, etc.) that would randomly assign you a target of a participating player. The players could be given the Bluetooth ID of their target/assasin’s cellphone. The assasin would have to get close enough to his target to have the Bluetooth/java app recognize the target, then spend 5 seconds in their vicinity to “tag” their target. Targets would have to access a “return fire” app on their phones that would lessen in probability as each second ticked off. So, during the first second the probability of repeling an attack would be 100%, 80% during the second, etc.
Parameters would have to be drawn up about (a) number of tag attempts/day, (b) points for partial/repeled tags and a few other things.
