Doug Chiang Studios is working on a book with Orson Scott Card about a future where large robots rule the planet. Doug Chaing did stop-motion animation for Pee Wee’s Playhouse, worked on the design of Forrest Gump and was design director for both Episode I and Episode II . The description of this book is pretty odd.

Robata will be made public first as a “film format” illustrated book. … It will be more an art book than a novel.

Even odder is that DC Studios has released a set of trailers for the book. That’s right, a trailer for a book.

p.s. Thanks to Becky’s Book Club I haven’t kept up with my own reading. I didn’t even know that OSC had a seventh book for the Ender series, Shadow Puppets .
