I’m a huge fan of putting education online. I got to play a decent part a huge project at subschool to make our instruction available to anyone on the SIPRNET. My “MBA”:http://www.telecampus.utsystem.edu/programs/MBA/mba.html was an online program, which intellectually (if not in networking terms) was challenging, and closely simulated today’s workplace, with disjointed communications and real-world schedules.

Anywoo – MIT’s gone ahead and opened up “OpenCourseWare”:http://ocw.mit.edu/index.html , a project which will put course material (including textbooks in many cases) online and available to anyone for free. They’re not offering any sort of degree or certification for participation, but if (like me) you’re interested in learning for learning’s sake, it’s a pretty cool place to poke around.
