I’m insane about expense reports (I even subtracted John’s hotel ginger ale from our recent subsidized trip to San Fran), so this story caught my eye.

In my line of work I see so many ridiculous cases going through the system, it’s nice to know that you can still be fired for being an idiot.

I’m confused by this story.

She paid for the lunch with her own credit card and did not seek to be reimbursed by the company. Why did they fire her?

Also it’s coincidental that she worked for US English, to which Arnold got linked up today.

She had wine at a business lunch. The intro at U.S. English’s web site states “official english promotes unity & empowers immigrants by encouraging them to learn (font size x3) ENGLISH (regular font size) the languqage of opportunity in this country”. It’s not a far leap to guess that the leaders of U.S. English are the same types that make Christians look bad.

Wow, A few drinks at lunch and see what happens.

Has there been any report for the client/friend complaining to the bosses about the alcohol consumption offending her? Just a thought.

This is why I don’t post stuff very often — my lack of attention to detail is bothersome. I read in another version of the story that she turned in a receipt to be reimbursed, which is why I was being so mean. Now, of course, I can’t find that article.

Maybe she just came back to work really drunk and everyone was pissed. Or maybe she really was wrongly terminated. Oh well…

Becky- Come on, the internet’s great for capturing a lack of attention to detail. Once someone’s discovered it, there’s a half dozen other things to think about. I wouldn’t let it worry you too much…
