Wanna run over a bunch of cyclists? It’s OK in St. Pete
Picture this – You’ve got one foot in the grave, and are prone to passing out. You’re out for a weekend morning drive, and see a large group of cyclists going the other way on a two lane road. So what do you do? Run them the heck over.
If you live in St. Petersburg it looks like that’s all right.
It looks like the jackass who did this isn’t going to lose his license, isn’t going to get tried on 14 counts of attempted manslaughter, and is going to get away with one count of reckless driving. When the cyclists go after him to get compensation for medical bills, new bikes, etc, the insurance company is going to tell the judge and jury “Hey, it’s not our client’s fault – the cops decided not to charge him.”
